New Guy With Questions

Hey guys,
New to the forums, I already took advantage of the FTE knowledge for my diesel and now I have some general questions. My truck is a 1992 F-250 4x4 with the 7.3 and the steering SUCKS!! Has anyone put in a new or different steering gear box to help this? I see AGR has a pump and gear box, but it seems a little pricey and I am not even sure it works well. The other thing I was thinking is either put in a Chevy PS pump or the Ford F450 PS pump as I plan on going to hydraboost in the future. Please let me know what you guys have found out, I want to make a U-turn in one shot!

On another note I saw in someones signature line a "3g alternator" what kind of altenator is this? Thanks!

Can't help you with the power steering question, but 3G alt. is a 135 amp alt. out of a mid 90's V-6 car like a Taurus, extra amps because of the electric cooling fans & such. they also made a 3G in 90 or 95 amps, if you do a search here you will find plenty of info on it. I went to the junkyard and got 1 with the harness & fuse & put it on my '89 F250, pretty straightforward job. Mine's a gas motor though, not sure it's bolt in on a diesel.

Worn out box or looking for a tighter turning circle?

Gear box isn't the limiting factor as for turning radius with these trucks, the steering knuckle provides the limit so changing to a difference make gear box won't help ya there.
