The Cooter Chronicles - Part 3 - We have a Rear!

When we left you last, the new rear was in the front and the rear hadn't come off yet...make sense?
TCI 4-Link with coil-overs, Currie 9" with 3.50's, and a Posi.
And yes, I know that the nuts are loose, and Julie, no lumber was used during this installation.
Also, no Shiners were consumed during the installation, but several were used to celebrate the completion of this phase

Very nice. Although I kind of liked the rear in the front look. It gave the truck that "Hey look at my beautiful rear end" look.
Those tires and no bed make the frame look short.
Good progress, can't wait to see more.

If you think the frame looks short there, you should try parking one next to a 158" wheelbase F-6. That'll make it look positively twinkie.

PS, nice job on the 4 link, Cooter! Lookin' good!

The 2 x 6 has moved on to another project and several Shiners have replaced the one that was up on the cowl

The next project is to strip the front leaf spring/beam axle and replace with a MII front end.
After that, it's the drive train.

I agree........that is a beauty! One question: why the spacers for the upper shock mounts? Couldn't you have just mounted the cross bar farther forward?

They aren't spacers per se, they are tubes that are through welded. I believe they gave more clearance for the coil-overs. Also. it allowed the use of the existing rivet holes from the cross member that was removed. Now back to work...moving to the front of the truck for the MII install.

She's looking awfully damn good. I'm gonna be putting a No-Limit Fatbar 4-Link in next spring. You got me all anxious and excited again...
