pinion busted

i have a f350 with a dana 60 front end. need to replace the ring and pinion, the new ones i was sent has the oppoiste twist ring and pinion.two people say i can use it but the warm fuzzy is not there. help.

Sounds like you were sent a set for a RWD application. IMHO, I would not use it. Make them send you the correct ones.

busted pinion

thanks for rwd thought. any tricks on setting up my lash on my ring and pinion . i have shimed pto pumps useing a paper clip or is this real close measureing any help would be apperitced.

Unless you were running the front diff engaged all the time, using the original shim thickness on the pinion should get you close enough on depth. I haven't done many gear set replacements, so I haven't bought a pinion depth gauge kit YET. Got just about every other kind of tool. LOL
I usually use a dial indicator to set my backlash. You can also try the oem carrier brg shims. Might luck out. Did you buy a shim/install kit?
