Dumb Questions for the Holiday
1. Vin Number says 1960 F100 truck built Dec 17 (17M). Is this 1960 or 1959, birthday coming up and want to know how many candles.
2. I only have one door lock and its on the passenger side. I have to lock my door slide across to the other side and lock the Truck. As I have installed seat-belts this increasing leads to times I look like I am falling out of my truck.
This truck came with two wiper blades and two sun visors, so can't be a striped down model can it?
Oh well just some turkey questions for the holiday
thanks
Craig

Your truck looks like a 1960 to me. What the title says can depend on a lot of different things; when the dealer originally sold the truck, when it was originally titled, etc
In those years trucks, and cars, didn't have dirvers side door locks. When you parked in town you slid out the passenger side. Thats just the way it was, you didn't get out into traffic. It should be easy enough to add a drivers side door lock.
Wow, 2 wipers blades and both the sun visors...thats a right fancy truck...LOL. You're right its not a stripped down model
Happy Thanksgiving

In modern times, the typical model year changeover is August/September, so a 1960 model year truck built in December would be 1959. That's 51 candles. ;-)
I'm not sure, but by 1960, 2 wipers and sun visors may have become standard equipment. You may want to consult a sales brochure or option list for your truck to find out. They're readily available on ebay or at swap meets.
Happy birthday to your truck, and have an extra piece of cake, just for us!

It is fairly easy to add the lock to the drivers side, that is what I did. All the internals are there, you have to cut the hole and install the key mechanism. The mechanism is the same for both sides. The drivers side door lock was an option in 1960, as was the second sun visor. 2 wipers were standard.
You truck is considered 1960, sometime late in the year Ford changed the tooling and started producing the next year. December is actually pretty late, they would have been making 60's for quite some time before then.
