35's on a stock 1984 F150??

Fellas, need some experienced advice. Got a 1984 F150 4X4 I bought as my driver/woods truck/lifeline. It has bald 33's on it now and my buddy has NEW 35 tsl's he will sell me for $150. I know they won't fit stock so my question is...whats the cheapest/quickest way to make them fit right? (without cutting the body) Already pawned my gold necklace to transfer title and tag (f**king new FL DMV costs!!). As always, thanks in advance and don't rip me too much on safety and ignorance.

You are going to need to stack at least 3 pucks to get the height you need, and you will need 36 hockey pucks @1.25 it will cost 45 in just pucks. Then you need to buy longer bolts. Just buy a body lift for 125 bucks and be done, at least then it will done half way right

I agree with Brad. Body lift is cheap and safe. You may have to fab your own brackets for the bumper if the kit doesn't include them. Don't forget about your wiring, fuel hoses, and steering shaft either. They may need to be extended as well.

Just keep in mind that you're going to pay more in gas to run those tires. Plus stuff might end up breaking, since the factory size tire for these trucks is 215/75/15, which is a 27 or 28-inch tire....

I think you'd be better off finding a good set of smaller tires. I think 31s will fit a stock truck with no modifications, though you might get a but of rub on the radius arms. Sure, other tires might cost more than the TSLs, but that way you wouldn't have to spend money on a body kit, extending lines, etc.

Just my humble opinion.

Most 35" swampers measure the same height as a 36-37" radial. Just FYI.

Yup, I can attest to that. The slight rub, that is. But then again....MY SPRINGS ARE SHOT!

Good luck getting a 44 TTB to hold up to 35" tires. You'll have all sorts of stripped splines and worn ball joints.

If you can't afford to do a proper lift, you can't afford to be running 35" tires. Methinks you need to find a better job or just be patient and save for a bit. I'm sure if you go on Craigslist you can find plenty of plane jane tires with life left in them that people are practically giving away.

As cool as 35" tires would look on the truck, these guys are right, you are going to run into all kinds of stuff trying to do a "quick" lift. Plus, plan on buying stuff that will be way more expensive than those tires once things start breaking or wearing quick.

If money is the issue, buy some used tires until you can afford new ones as most tire places sell good used ones.

Buy the 35's, and advertise them for a swap for good 31-33's in your local craigslist. Let someone else deal with extra cost of making them fit and breaking stuff, while you are happily motoring around on tires that are a better choice for a stock truck.

+1 ^^^^^ Thats what I would do. You can get 31-33s to fit if you have aftermarket rims. I had a set of 33s on my F150 for a while during the summer and it didnt rub at all.
