Windshield in a chopped top 54

I am amazed at the ingenuity of some folks when it comes to building/modifying these trucks. I saw this 54 F100 for sale on the HAMB and thought that I would share a pic. This is not any way that I would "skin this cat" but I have to give the guy credit for "thinking outside the box"...or should I say "frame".

I've seen them sunk into the cowl before. Same type of thing they do with the rear glass on some cars. Sometimes it works out better than others. I think the owner could put a modern-ish mirror on the door where they stick them now-a-days, and it MIGHT look better.

Most people chop the top on the slant cabs to reduce the greenhouse appearance. That sure was a lot of work to not either sink the windshield in the cowl or cut it. But it's whatever "floats your boat" I guess.

It kind of defeats the whole purpose if chopping the top in the first place - to give it a sleeker closed in look!

The more I look at it, the more confused I get. Is the door simply chopped, or is the window area from something different? I don't see where he could get 3 - 4" only from above the windshield? Is the w'shield laid back too? Check out the door handle, is that part of a bear claw conversion?

nevermind, the pillar looks closer to stock than I thought. But they did pancake the roof above the windshield.

I agree that the visor might change the look of this entirely.

I bought this truck from a guy in Kentucky...go figure...

Yea the chop is odd, but it has a some other good things done, Clear title, PS,PB, Tilt, Rear end, Clipped, hanging pedals, nice solid old truck, other than the chop job.....and for the price, couldn't beat it...as for the roll over, I hope, I have in insured out the rear end and as for the "bend" nothing was bolted down, including the home made "tilt" bed...I hear banjo's......lol

Taking it to Columbus to sell maybe, if not, she's coming homig, getting put together to drive....remember, cabs are easy to switch.....anybody got a 56 BBW around, that's a Big Back Window, not a Big Beautiful Woman.....
