Heater core F250

My 03 F250 7.3 Diesel apparently has a problem with the heater core. No fluid inside the cab but does have the anti-freeze fog on the lower right corner of the windshield just above the defroster outlet over the heater core. Have been told that there are "quick couplers" that hook the core to the water system. Is this so and if there is, do you still have all of the labor expense of removing the whole dash? Understand that the labor bill from a Ford dealer for removing the dash is near $1,000. Can this be right? Thanks

There are quick disconnects. The hoses can be removed from the engine side of the firewall it looks like. I bought the two new hoses and new heater core, but they haven't sat on the shelf long enough for me to put them in... Someone probably has a link to the R n R of the heater box.

do it yourself, about 1hr labor, just did it on my 2000 F250, no need to take the dash out, just glove box. Quick connects on the engine side, take several screws out of the core cover and 4 (?) of the other plastic part not sure what it called, but you will see it when you get to it, on the upper left side of the heater core.
Good luck!
