need help with a 66' F250

I just bought the truck has small spots of rust on it. I want to disassemble the body so I can chemical dip it but don't know how to take the body apart. Anyone got some advise?

Sell it and pick a different project. Maybe you could take up stamp collecting or something.

Well..

I'm no pro, but if you're mechanically inclined enough to feel comfortable with starting the project to do yourself....I'd say that judging from my '66 F250 it pretty much is self explanatory. There's no real secret to anything I've found yet....
1. Look at part you want to remove.
2. Loosen nuts, bolts or screws on that part
3. Remove part.

Simple. That's why I love my truck. As I said I am no pro, but I have done my fair share on my '66 and many other '60s vehicles and so far they've all been pretty much the same. Good luck on your project!

^^^ As for the JUNK guy...lol?

Yup, these old trucks are easy to work on. There isn't any extra plastic covering or electronic computers to **** off, so taking them apart and putting them back together is usually fairly strait forward. I'd recommend getting a shop manual if you plan to do alot of work to it.

You can get a complete parts guide with assembly guides in CD form....Number Dummy has mentioned these in other threads. Not sure if Chilton's or other similar sources go back to the '60's trucks, but if they do, that would be a good place to start for a step-by-step disassemble/reassemble instructions.

1.Apply penetrating oil.
2.Label everything.
3.Take pictures before disassembly.
4.Use anti-seize when you reassemble.
5. Reassemble and enjoy!

Grills can be tricky...it's not that they are hard really, it's just that with rusted bolts, you have to be resourceful. As far as the other stuff, I'd tackle it mate...take your time and like one of the guys said, document it with photos or video. Sometimes you have to hunt, like on some of the fender bolts...they get accessed from panels etc. Good luck...
As for Mechanic58's advice...quite a strange comment...

For some reason this guy has not responded to a single post on his thread. It's hard to help people out, when they don't respond to questions or comments.
