?? Ohhhh...you mean between the 250/350's the sizes are identical. You got the heavier duty payload with those 17's.
You'd think so, but that's not the case. Look at the truck specs on www.fleet.ford.com.
My GAWR for the rear axle is only 6,290 lbs because of those 17" wheels and tires. The 18s are equipped with a tire that gives it a rating of up to 7,000 lbs.
F350s have the overload springs in back that are part of a package in the F250s. They also have 4" blocks instead of 2" blocks, and for some reason that 10.5" rear axle is rated for 7,280 lbs instead of 6,100 lbs on the F250s. There's some debate about that, as Ford lists different spline counts and axle shaft diameters, but parts guys reference the same parts numbers for 250s and 350s.
This is what I was told so please do shoot me. The reason in the difference in the rear gawr is the 2 extra tires.
This is my first SD 99 F250 PS. Have since bought a 01 F350 dually which I think will handle the load much better. Got to get pic of it and rig together!!

It is a little bit, i'd love to give towing my uncles 2 axle trailer and bobcat a shot but i dont have a Trailer brake controller. So stopping wouldn't be fun lol
Here's a shot I took of me bringing home a basket-case Mustang I bought a couple weeks ago. During the 200 mile round trip we hit rain, sleet and snow but it still beat going Christmas shopping!
