But just wouldn't be safe with that trailer, so he didn't
Yeah, you got to be really careful with that stuff. I was with my granddad once in one of his F-250s (an 08' diesel) with about 2,000 pounds in the truck and his work boat on the dual axle trailer behind us that was about 6,000 pounds. Going down a country road at 60 MPH (55 MPH road) on a straight stretch with an intersecting road (like a "T"), and when we were almost to that road an old woman pulled out right in front of us like she didn't even see us. Even without a huge load, we'd have hit her for sure without good working trailer brakes. We stopped so fast that we lost stuff out of the boat and left marks on the road. We were both sure we were going to hit the car. The old woman never realized anything was going on, she just kept going.

In VA you're required to have trailer brakes if your trailer can handle over 3,000 pounds. Not sure what your laws are on that. I think one or two states don't require trailer brakes at any weight.

Btw, did you ever get my last message about the bumper stuff?

Yeah that sucks, I hear ya on that. I'm not sure on the laws here in Ohio, but they're probably similar. My Dad doesn't use that trailer often. He only uses it when he has something big to haul, like the shed, which is rare. And yes I did get that pm. Sorry I've been meaning to get back to you, I just haven't. I should be sending you a pm soon though.

Miles, I'm going to have to agree with TJC and say that your clearing it up for an above ground pool...

Thanks, I love having a rolling work bench. With the Honda generator, it's like being in my garage.

I just towed our mule trailer from Nashville to Nelson, Nebraska and back to pick up our new mule and do some riding out there. About 840 miles one way. My wife Amy is loading tack onto the truck.

Picked up some straw to cover some grass seed in the back yard and the "kids" decided to help.
