I guess my M5od gear lever won't fit my ZF transmission.Does anybody know where I can get one without digging around the salvage yard.

 

Gear lever? Do you mean the shifter? Because if thats what your talking about I would try it before counting it out because they look pretty similar.

 

The shift levers are way different

 

seriously, just go to a junk yard. what, like 8 screws to undo the boot and 2 bolts holding the shift lever to the "shifting mechanisms". if you could find one it would probably cost way too damn much to order and ship.

worst come to worst, just make one i guess. all it is is a half circle of metal that butts up to the other half and is held together by 2 bolts.

 

The M5od only has one tapered bolt holding it to the shifter stub that comes out of the transmission and the zf is kinda half moon shaped with a groove on each side and two bolts holding it.Part of my problem is there's no salvage yards close by.That's why I was checking other avenues first.Thanks fellows.
