And who said anything about a diesel??? Where did you see that?

A Focus group? I have an F150. You mean like this:

I put ARB air lockers front and rear on a Jeep once, I ran 4.11s with 33x12.5s and that joker would almost walk up a vertical wall. Plus I had an onboard air compressor with it. Was a bit loud though.

I just bought a 2010 F-150 super cab FX2 with the 4.6 3V 6-speed... I have had a 1999 and a 2006 F-150 prior with the 4 speed, I would defenitley say the 4.6 3V 5 speed is more than enough for your needs. I wish I would have waited for the 5.0 but I got a great deal and tons of rebates on my 2010. You will not be dissapointed, for some reason all 3 of my F-150's have all been the 4.6.... it is a good little motor... maybe not the biggest in the performance area but they have all gotten any job done that I have thrown at it without a hiccup.

Some of the tow difference is you may comparing is reg. cab to a super cab.The shorter wheel base has a lower tow rate.

If you can wait, try the new EcoBoost 3.5L V-6 twin turbo. I drove one last Saturday at a Ford function at the Fontana Speedway. WOW!

I have a 2010 F-150 with the 4.6 engine. If I let off the gas below 40 mph, the tach drops to near 1000 rpm, and I give it gas, it vibrates like I am in the wrong gear(which it is in the wrong gear). Does anyone else run it in 'tow/haul' mode so this doesn't happen? TIA

It is in the F150 forum; unless he has more than 60k miles the drivetrain should be under warranty; but it would be better if he started his own thread rather than hijacking this one.
