Hi fellas, don't post much, but since I have a new 2011 dually I have been watching this closely and can now add some fuel to the fire.

Thankfully I have not had the super shakes yet, although my truck sure does hop on any type of even the slightest broken pavement - which i am not happy about. Or maybe this is a baby version of some of your cases.

But this post is about true severe cases. My close friend with three job 1 6.7's in his work fleet all have what he describes as "holy crap it feels like a wheel is falling off" wheel hop/shakes around 55 - 65 mph. Two are short boxes, and the third is a long box - all single wheel. I have riden in one when it happened, and it is much worse than in my dually, so I'm not sure if they are related.

So, in any case, I think there is a true wide spread issue here that will only continue to show itself as more people discover/report the proplem. Cheers all, will keep you in the loop to any futher info.

I don't know if this will help or not Centramatic. I've had them on my truck now for about 2 thousand miles and the truck rolls smoothly from 0 up to the speed that the limiter kicks in. Note, I did not have problems before installing the balancers so I can't say they will help your situation.

Thom12, I have purchased two trucks from the dealership pictured in your avatar. A 2006 and 2011 and they have always treated me well. I hope it all works out for you.

hey guys, sorry that i am in the wrong years thread but i cant help but say I have a 2001 f-250 single wheel 4x4 crew cab, and i have been pulling my hair out over this exact same problem! Thom, i know exactly how you feel! its either go slow or risk a ticket, i am so irritated to drive my truck anywhere anymore! I cant believe i finally found a thread where people have the same exact problem, and i have seen a few post from people with older super dutys that have the same problem so i am thinking the fix might have some of the same characteristics for all the years! now obviously my truck is out of warranty so i have been doing small things from out of the pocket money. Nothing has helped! I will be on here every day waiting to see what the outcome of this situation is, because i would do anything to get rid of my hop! I wish you guys the best of luck!

AZBaker,
Thanks for the info. I will have to hold off on any mods to my truck untill Ford and I resolve our little dispute, hopefully some time in the very near future.

01PS01, what kind of small things have you tried on your 01?

Mine does this too. Even more with the lift. I may try some ladder bars but its right at this same speed 45-50.

It's a reminder that I need to get rid of this belly.

Man oh live, I have been trying to gather info about this bounce and I can only find it here and on the other web site I posted it to originally (TDS). I have been trying to get a true total of the number of 2011 super Duty's that have this problem but I keep loosing track with all the other year trucks posting.

So I need to ask each of you with only a 2011 SD PSD who read this to answer this question yes or no, and discribe your truck no matter if you answer yes or no:

Question: Does your 2011 super duty (F-250 or F-350) develop a rear end bounce between 40-45 mph?

Again, yes or no AND describe your your 2011 truck (crew cab, super cab, long bed, short bed, dually or SRW).

My answers:
Yes, F-350, PSD, LB, SRW, Crew cab.

Thank you all for all the support so far!

Just a thought...for clarity's sake you might consider a new thread....maybe with a poll in it to collect this data.

2011 F350 cc srw lb 4x4. 20" wheels 3.55 rear end. B+W gooseneck hitch----- NO hop at 40 to 45 mph. I sure hope the dealer finds a solution. The fact that it is a bit different hot versus cold leads me to believe it has something to do with oil (gear lube/trans fluid) or a component that runs in oil (rear end/tranny).

Wow, I finally reached the end and like reading a book, hoped for a good ending but it sounds like the run-a-round continues for Thom12 and others. I would just like to add that I resently picked up a 2006 Lariat F250 TD FX4 LB and so far I'm happy with the truck acsept for of corse, rear wheel bounce. I'm sure you have somthing else going on then I do but would just like to share that the bounce gives me a love-hate relation towrds the truck. I'm from L.A., CA. so the bounce comes in from the jacked up concrete fwys as noted from others. I noticed there starting or been working on fixing parts of the fwy's by some type of shaving of the concrete fwy surface. Anyway, I'll be reading on and hope to here a happy ending to your situation Thom12 & others. I'm sure you all have biger promblems then my bouncy parts of fwy I have to deal with. It gives me an Idea of what your going through. Dont give up!

Hope they can spend a little of this profit to FIX your problems...

"Ford earned its largest profit in more than a decade in 2010, as demand for its cars and trucks rose and it benefited from years of restructuring.

It was the company's best performance since 1999 and the first time it has earned back-to-back annual profits in six years.

Ford earned $6.6 billion, or $1.66 per share. That's more than double its 2009 profit of $2.7 billion, or 86 cents per share.

Ford's U.S. sales jumped 20 percent last year — double the rate of the industry — as an improving economy spurred demand for the company's F-Series pickups and other vehicles. Ford became the top-selling brand in the U.S. last year, beating out Chevrolet and Toyota for the first time since 2003.

Revenues rose 3 percent to $120.9 billion. "

I'd like to think so, but the fact that this problem has existed since at least 2004 doesn't bode well for those with the issue.
