Question 36 Gallon Gas Tank

Do all the 2010 Super Crews come with a 36 gallon tank? I though it was an option. No mention of it on the window sticker. When I filled up for the first time today, imagine my surprise when the pump said 26 gallons... I still had a little more than a quarter of tank of gas left. Guess I got a freebie.

It isn't standard for the crew cabs but rather the 4x4 models with the exception of the regular cab 126" wheel base which is a 26 gallon in both 4x2 and 4x4. Harley Davidson 4x2 is the only 2WD that comes standard with 36 gallon.

Here we go again with the manual. I knew I had to go get gas today, being its payday, so I looked at a copy of the manual I downloaded on my work computer. It said that the 36 gal. tank was an option. I guess you are now my go to guy, cause the manual sucks... LOL... Thank you for your input.

I also have the 36 gal. tank. I also have the SCrew long bed (6.5'). I don't intend to let the tank get too low very often, it will cost a fortune to fill. lol

I think Ford had a few extra ones and threw them in here and there. When I took delivery of my truck the dealership told me that. They get a few bonus surprizes here and there when they fill them up for delivery! I won that lottery too! I have yet to fill mine up, eray time I tried the pump stopped at $75.00! Just as well!

I was told from the dealer I bought my truck from, that all F150's with a wheel base of 145 in or larger came with a 36 gal tank.

pay after u pump and it wont stop at $75. mine does that if i swipe my card first. go inside and tell them to turn the pump on before u fill up. i have the 36 gallon tank on my fx4 and sometime it runs up to $95 before im full.

My '86 F-150 4x4 had one 16 gallon on it. You talk about a PITA! I could have used the 36 gallon tank when I was younger and could hold my bladder longer.

now the bigger tank is more about strategic fill ups when travelling.

They do look nice but the single 36 gal tank is by far tops in my book. I had dual tanks on my '88 and what a PITA when they broke, rusted and pumps failed.

Oh I am sure. Just more of a sticker shock when filling up the new tank rather than just one at a time ha ha

My Expedition has a 27 gallon tank and it's costly enough. My 2011 will have a 36 gallon tank and I'm a little concerned about the fill up costs but I'll deal with it.

Ugh, I always tire of hearing the "sticker shock" issue with the big tanks.

You're going to burn the same amount of fuel... refills will be more costly but less frequent. All works out the same in the end...

So far I can't get more then 32 gallons in mine?
Needle is buried on E and the trip computer says 7 miles to empty and I can't get more then 32.2 or .3 gallons in it three times now.
So where is my other 4 gallons of room?
And my window sticker doesn't mention a size of gas tank at all.

I have the 2010 platinum screw 4x4 short bed.
