Sorry right now to the Mods, I have tried posting htis in the club for help, but have gotten little feed back. So, please look this over, let me know what you think.
By the way, I have a CubScout Pack meeting tonight, and I was asked to say something, so that is what this is all about.

We sleep safely in our beds because rough men stand ready
in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.

This needs to be a day for all of us to take the time to thank a solder of past and present.<o></o>

<o></o>

This is a day to close our eyes and thank the solders who have given so much, that there is nothing more to give.<o></o>

<o></o>

It is Our Countries boys and girls who give everything, and with any luck, return to us as Men and Woman. They offer themselves for our Country, our beliefs, our well being and Freedom.<o></o>

<o></o>

It is today’s solder that is tomorrows Vet.<o></o>

It is never to early to say thank you, but for tomorrow can be to late. Take the time to thank a solder, take the time to say thank you to a Vet!<o></o>

A Prayer For Our Troops

God, hold our troops in Thy loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts
They perform for us in our time of need.

If you're looking for something profound to say to the kiddos, I've always liked this.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them

Love the quote.. but how do I tie it into what today is, not sure I can get the boys to understand the meaning. Heck, I am not sure they are going to understand what I wrote..The quote is great!

Final Draft... I hope it isnt to much for the boys..

You tie it in by the word SERVICE. A word with many meanings.....but when one answers the question: What do you do for a living? And the answer is: I'm in the service. Everybody understands what you mean.

The word is SERVICE!

BTW, thank you for your time and sacrifice by serving our next generation of leaders!

Well, not sure how the kids took it, but the parent's seemed to. So there is hope, if the parents got it, hopefully they will share it with their kids..

Our VFW Rep was a Vietnam Vet, he did well for hanging out with a bunch of kids, by the end of the pack meeting we learned we did Basic at the same place, he met up with a Daughter of someone who once belonged to his VFW hall, and last, he talked about when he was a kid, and what he did. One of the dads came up, and what ya know they are cousins through marriage of cousins, of cousins.. and ect..

He had fun,
