Anyone else out there noticed that aside from ARB there are no options for the Sterling 10.5. Last I checked there's no shortage of us that are serious offroaders. Operating in snow for half the year I don't want a full time locker, and after watching a friends air lines freeze and crack from moisture, I don't want to be dependent on air pressure when I do need it, and ARB is stupid expensive when you add all the parts up.

I found this company, but there's no option for the Ford 10.5. When I called and asked about it, I was told there was not enough demand.

I don't know about the rest of you, but a mechanically actuated locker with a simple fail safe system sounds like a winner to me. The link below shows their fail safe.

For all the parts to do my rear axle the cost is the same as just the ARB locker, no compressor, air lines, solenoids, and wiring. I would love to give these people my business, but not if it means I have to do an axle swap.

 

Very few people "seriously" off road their Super Duty, so there really isn't much demand. People that wheel hard run an automatic in the rear and a selectable in the front for the most part. I'm one of the few that beats my truck off road, and ran a Grizzly automatic for a season. It worked great off road but with my hard tires it was annoying on the street. I switched to a TruTrac and it works 90% as well as the Grizzly off roading. When I get the funds I will install one in the front too and my truck will be able to easily go anywhere it will fit.

 

In Northern WI/Northern MN/Northern MI 3/4 and 1 ton trucks are the majority of offroad vehicles. I've got a Lock Right in my Suburban and it's damn near undriveable in the winter on snowy roads. I drive the Ex daily and can't have it so hard to control in the winter.

TruTracs definitely the ticket for me, when funds allow.

 

Can't beat a mechanical locker with no clutches to wear out and no switches, etc to think about (since my wife occasionally drives it too.)! TruTracs rule!
