97 F150 True Dual Exhaust ~ Where can I get it?

IM new to this sight, but Im looking for True duals for my f150. Ive looked on the internet for weeks and can't find it. I've found every kind of cat-back there is. Does anyone a sight or store to find them?

97 F150, 2wd, Ex Cab Reg Bed, Xllt Lariat, 4.6

Yep have an independent make one. Would be a good time to throw some long tube
headers on as well. Would be a breeze being a 2wd.

Most are just cat back!
f150 exhaust - Google Search
Then you could get something like this and put the 2 kits together!
HEADERS FORD F-150 F150 LIGHTNING HARLEY DAVIDSON 2003: eBay Motors (item 130440331428 end time Dec-04-10 15:30:24 PST)
Oh ,,that kit is for the 5.4
I think OBX on ebay has the ones for the 4.6 and there good headers for less money!

With that part of your question answered, next comes the real question. Why do you want duals? You do realize that unless you move the tank, you can't get a balanced sound, and there is a reason that H-pipes and X-pipes exist, and that is to attempt to overcome the problems with true duals, namely the reduced scavenging effect that results in a loss of torque. Running a dual outlet muffler in my opinion produces a cleaner smoother sound, but without the downsides to true duals

+1 to that.

I'm not gonna tell you to not do it, but you better be sure of what you want from your truck before doing it.

How much of an increase in HP and torque are you really gonna get by leaving the cats in? And, Ok, so you take the cats out - are you willing to design a system where the O2 Sensors will still work? If bypassing them, are you willing to give up the fuel economy from a mono-setting on your new chip that doesn't adjust for O2 sensor reading?

I'm no fan of the fake duals these days, either - so I skipped them and went with an aftermarket single exhaust that gets me what I want out of the truck. (Mine is a fee-er flowing design from the cat, back, with a freer flowing muffler.)

Even back in the day, though, the best designed dual exhausts had a cross-over pipe...

I'm just not sure true duals will get you anything if you haven't cammed your motor to be a pure drag-racing motor.

Never heard of anyone moving the gas tank for an exhaust.

Anything that can happen, has happened.

Somehow I don't doubt it's been done numerous times since the... 1950's (at least). Just not often, and probably usually with a good excuse and much more extensive build plans in the works... but I still don't doubt some young hacks have done it for the very reason to have duals the way they envisioned them, lol.

lol this thread got a little funny.

probly could've put this in my first post, but anyway... easy and cheap way to make it, what I'm doing...

Cheap muffler on ebay 2.5" straight through $25 shipped
ebay 2.5" y pipe from same seller, think it was $20 or so...
My old tailpipes from my 99 mustang gt FREE and you could find them all over for nothing.
a couple misc fittings and hangers, a little welding... and I'll put up some pics and a new thread when I finish up. It looks nice in my head.

I'm gonna do a high temp powder coat too so I NEVER have to replace it

Yeah, I'd also like to know what magical powder coat you are gonna use that never cracks or flakes off and is waterproof and rustproof.
