97 F-150 Brake Upgrade
What is a good upgrade for my 97 F 150 4.6l brakes? Front are disk and rear drums.Just want better braking and the rotors seem a bit tired at 165000 miles...don't need racing performance just better stopping especially pulling a trailer. Don't want to change wheels to larger and am not sure if ABS is on all four or just the front.

ABS would be on the rear to. The sensor for it is on the pumpkin in the rear end. They are disc options for the rear. Pulling a trailer usually the best option for a trailer if its putting enough straight on your truck is probably going to be trailer brakes if the trailer is equipped all you need is the module and what not. Think 60 bucks what I gave for mine.
I'd keep drum in the rear. Drum's are a lot less of a wear problem. I personally miss my ranger's old drum in the rear brakes. I got an ABS light on myself, and my brakes aren't to good, and I've got four wheel disc brakes.

Thanks Chris, I have electric brakes on my trailer and they work well but the truck seems to need improvement.....I will keep the drum brakes on the rear as you suggest but need advice on new, better rotors and pads that don't cost alot....have viewed a few like Brembo on the internet but they are way too expensive for me. Any suggestions?
