I got HiHo 65 back together last week. Swapped the 352/3sp for a 360/C6. I hope to get the interior painted and back together next week. But at least I can drive it again.
Looks great! The primer gray & black rims look cool.
Thanks Mitch. I like that look also. Painted the back bumper black and am going to have my son make me a black tonneau cover for it. He made a dark brown flush mount cover for his 65 swb that looks nice. I also have black leather bucket seats and grey carpet for it. Next I'll be painting the interior in primer grey and the gauge panel black. I guess I'll keep the custom cab door panels red for now as they are in very good shape and don't want to replace them now. Never had much luck with painting them, so I'll wait untill I can get some black panels and arm rests. Thought I would leave the bottom half of the dash red so they won't look too out of place.
Is all that power steering stuff off the '73? Geez, I'm still kicking myself in the butt for not buying the correct donor for my power steering conversion. Just the same, I almost have it ready. Just need to "massage" the steering shaft and column. Nice looking truck.

Yep, all came off the 73. Just bolts on. I did however use a tilt column out of a 78, but the 73 column went in another truck. Very easy to retro fit either of these columns.
Can you get some better photos of the headers? I like what I saw from the top.
thanks
John
John, what inparticular are you wanting to see? I have headers on all my 65s, and my sons. 2 are ceramic coated Headman headers. I haven't noticed anything unique about this set, but let me know what pic you'd like and I'll try to get one for you.
Are they shorties? The top of the steering gear is making it hard to tell, for me.
John
No, just regular 2wd headers. The pic does kinda make them look like shorties, but they're not. I've seen some of the old Galaxies with shortie headers. That would be pretty cool but the ones I've seen are pretty spendy. I wonder if anyone on here has ever used them on their truck?
