New Fuel pressure regulator kit with blue spring. Worth it or not?

3C3Z-9T517-AG this is the part number for Ford. This is for the new fuel pressure regulator kit with the blue spring.

Has anyone done this change and is it worth doing?

I have a 2003 F 250 and I have a SCT tuner with Eric's tunes. On Street and Extreem Street the truck is lacking fuel. Will this help or not before I waste my money?

I found the kit for $62 on Ebay

How do I know for sure if my kit on my 2003 is bad or going bad?

measure your fuel pressure. it should never be below 45 psig. if it is, you most likely need the spring upgrade.

I just put it in my 03 last weekend. Have hypertec tuner, and on stage 2 I can feel the diff. seems to rev quicker and just runs better. I got mine from Ed the parts guy 52 plus 8 for shipping. If you do it pull cac tube, more room to work, and if you need a thermostat good time to do it , good luck

Thanks

Thanks guys as the truck runs great stock but when I hook up the tuner this is when it lacks fuel. On economy tune it runs fine but I think that tune from Eric's requires less fuel?

When I first got the street tune it was fine and two weeks later is when it started acting up.

When I had my coolers replaced I told the dealership to do the spring upgrade. Paid for the kit and no labor since they were already there. It will give app. 10 psi upgrade overall.

Install it even if you do not have a gauge....you can never go wrong with OEM....it is a 99.9999999999 certainty it will not hurt your engine. It bumped my psi by 10 to 69 @ idle. It starts better, idles better and all around runs better. Now granted the spring wont make up for a weak HFCM if that is the case.

I put mine in because my fuel pressure was running right at 45 PSI all the time. It raised my fuel pressure, but I didn't notice any difference in how the truck runs.

I agree it probably won't hurt to put it in. But if you even suspect a fuel pressure problem, not having a gauge is just playing Russian roulette with your injectors.

My fuel pressure is running about 53 to 60 but I figured as I have to change the thermostat and flush coolant, might as well do it. Will order from partsguyed as soon as his website upgrade is done.
