98 Ranger 2.5L Clutch replacement

Hey guys this weekend I'm replacing the clutch in a 98 Ranger 2wd 2.5L 5 speed.....I was gonna go with a Perfection kit from Advance Auto but they offer an OEM "Self-Adjust design".....

And the other option is a "Optional Non Self adjusting" clutch....

Which one do i want?

Both are $160 which is a good price.

The truck is all stock and always will be and 95% of driving is Straight highway at 75mph.

Any recommendations on a cheap clutch and also any tips on the changeout? I know it has an "Internal slave cylinder" Which i've never dealt with and i realize the lines are going to have to be unhooked before dropping the trans....

Thanks alot.

Brandon

Ford original parts are not good enough for you?

You get what you pay for. Cheap now might not be cheap in the long run.

I have not replaced mine yet but I am preparing to do so. I learned that the best way to remove the 2 top bolts is to put the truck up on jackstands remove the drive shaft and the crossmmeber. Then you can drop the tail of the tranny down and it will expose the top 2 bolts
