No, I guess the two suspects were wanted by the police already. Something to do with a "criminal investigation". They fled from the police and holed themselves up in this house. Apparently no shots were fired, but the RCMP figured there was probably hunting rifles in the house (pretty safe bet up here). They closed the highway and brought the SWAT teams in from Terrace and PG.
I guess the two suspects tried to get away by boat on the skeena. One got dropped off on the other side of the river, and the other ended up going back to the property. Both gave up shortly after.
It is a good thing too, the only route around is a radio controled forestry road that takes 4-5 hours to go around a 40km closure

Well, I have found some information about the horse that I adopted earlier this year.
She was foaled in Courtenay. I have the breeder's name and address at the time. He is no longer at that address, but I have found someone with the same name that lives in Courtenay, so I am hoping it is the same one. The last registered owner has disapeared off the face of the earth, just like the rescue center told me recently.
I also have the registered names for her sire, dam, ss, sd, ds, and dd; foaled date; registered date; and her registration No.
Tonight, I am going to try and phone the breeder and see if I can get some more information about her past.
