F350 6.2L Towing 10k Lbs Video
Hi All
Went out camping this weekend. Towing our 10k lb. 5ver with a dingy behind it Thought i would make a short video from a dead stop up to about 60 mph before backing out. Truck has stock exhaust with the 4.30 gear set and our 87 Tune. Basically when in doubt just let it rev out!
Heres what i was towing
Here is video. I have all windows up except back slider window thats open.

yep,
know the sound.. I was pulling about 16-17k for the last 1000 miles I heard a lot of that - out I-10 from the hill country - way west Tx.. & back..
Mike - the 87 Perf/tow tune seemed to work flawlessly..
Got to empty last night and filled with 93 on top of about 2-3 gals of 87 - got home and tuned to the 91 perf/tow - drove about 200 miles this am & it felt pretty good - overall with the 3.73's at highway speeds the 6.2 will rock..
Even with the heavy trailer (btw I know that I was loaded heavy - some might think overloaded - but we have to do what we have to do..) this 6.2 will pull!

i dont think my truck sounds that good nor goes that well empty..
your a maniac stomping on it with those trailers in tow.. i bet your dishs and furniture in the trailer were laying in a pile at the back wall.. haahah

But - it was a 20 ft flatbed w/ air compressor/ 100 gal fuel tank + 4 - 5 gal cans & tool boxes/ 2 spares up on the front so the pin is a little heavy(±5500-6000#). Then my JD 328 Skid steer (8600#), Bucket(800#), Grapple Rake(940#) & a 8' - 4 way blade(±600#)..
On that note I dragged that load about 30 miles in 4wd Low w/e-locker ( Up & down hills, creeks, etc. - the thing did pretty good except one time I got buried in a deep sandy creek - had to off load the tractor..

I would like to see as well. If your ever in the Myrtle Beach, SC area let me know. The 6.2L I would think will tow your camper just fine. The 6.2L makes more usable HP than the 3v V10 but does not have the torque as the V10 also the 6 speed tranny is a solid improvement over the 5 spd. The 6.2L is a great middle ground if you dont tow those heavy loads on a daily basis. My Opinion of course. I also suggest anyone that does order a new 6.2L SD to get the 4.30 gear set.

Of course if you go out & put a little larger tire on right away then you would lower (numerically) your gears..
