Aftermarket questions.

OK,

So I bought my 2004 F350 DRW a few months ago. This is an XL with absolutely NO options.

Told myself that I didn't need power windows (I was right)
Told myself that I didn't need power door locks (I was WRONG)
Told myself that the XL sealed beam headlights would be bright enough (Yep Wrong again)

So here are my questions.

I definitely want to install power door locks. Has anyone done it, are there better kits than others, Should I just do the windows at the same time because I will hate myself later?

Headlights. Million dollar question. These POS sealed beams are stupid dim. I have an 05 Expi as well, and they are literally 100 times brighter (Maybe not in lumens, but definitely in visibility. How difficult is the transition to newer lights. Anyone bought them on eBay, which brands, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Glenn

The actuators should be pretty typical across the manufactures. AutoLoc and the Hoffman group products are usually well liked. While you're researching it, I would highly suggest thinking about keyless entry, alarm and remote start. You will have to supply power and grounds to the switches and actuators, so you might as well have keyless. The other stuff is fluff, but it's not much more money and it's handy at times.

Headlight upgrade should just be removing the sealed beam bezel and replacing it with new lamps. The trick will be in swapping the h4 style plug for the 9008. In my signature I have some part numbers for to build the 2008 harness, they will be in the 2005 headlight upgrade pdf. I'd be leery of ebay parts, some of the chinese import stuff is junk while some of it is decent. Using Ford parts will be a better bet.

Had a Friend in the same situation. His was an F-150, no options he got power windows door locks alarm install and out the door I think he paid 800ish installed. That was through a local guy who does stereos and what not. That was on a 2Dr also though.
