Exclamation Bought for $2250 a 2002 F350 V10 2wd with Utility Box (worth swapping for a new bed)?

I got a 2002 F350 Super Duty Crew Cab today.
V10...6.8L...High Miles (just over 200K)...Runs and drives and sounds 10/10....Looks 6 to 6.5/10?

Reselling. Looking for opinions. I can put a brand spanking new pickup bed on it for $1900. This brings me up to $4150. If it were a 4x4 I could easily get $5500 to $6000....Since it is two-wheel drive I don't think the value is really there, even if I added a new pickup bed.

In current condition I believe if I am unlucky I'd get $2500 to $2700.

If I am lucky I'd get a little under 4.

Any thoughts? I have no idea how small (or large) the market would be for a truck like this.

Before you purchase a new bed, find out what the truck really is. Did it start life as a pickup or a chassis/cab truck? If it started a s a chassis/cab,the the rear frame is not the same as a pickup and a bed will no bolt onto it.

I called the dealership earlier today and he said the only info he had was that it was a 182 inch (if I remember correctly) wheel base (?).

He seemed to think it probably started off as a chassis, and for sure would require an 8 foot bed.

He didn't say anything about installation though.

Do you think I can get $3500 on a good day for this beast? I think because it is so ugly that it might be a real tough seller! Even though it is quite handy with all the locking storage spaces...

Put the VIN in here, this will tell you everything about the truck:

If you clean it up and maybe put some paint on it (one color, that is) it's probably sell for over $4000. Depends on where you are.

^^ What he said.

Sell it as is or hit the utility body with some fresh white paint and trade it off.

What about getting a junkyard bed? And if it is a chassis cab, can you force a junkyard bed to fit? Idk just some ideas.

Looks like a CN railway service truck, the color combo is what they run.

I bought a Wisconsin central railway truck last year, It was a cab and chassis model with a standard bed.

The service boxes have little resale value up here once the rust sets in.
