What have you done to your truck today?

Today I am pretty sure I found my water leak, seam sealer next to the heater housing was cracked, when I chipped that off. A big hole was behind it! I silicone'd that hole up, ran a bead across the top of the heater housing, sealed the antenna and changed the oil. My battery must be a real strong one to survive a week of sitting, me draining the battery with the lights, numerous nights of below 30 degree weather and still fire right up. I looked in my old filter, saw lots of that same crap in it.

Yesterday I replaced my '86 F150 TFI module (that attaches to the distributor), just kind of as preventative maintenance because I heard they fail after a while and I didn't know how old mine was (it looked old and the white heat sink compound underneath it was dried out, if indeed that was what it was).
I was going to remote-mount the new module in a heat sink. But when I removed the module, I saw that remote mounting would leave a hole in the distributor base where it looked like stuff might get into the engine. So I did not remote mount the new one, I just put it right back where the old one had been on the distributor (back of new module coated with Arctic Silver heat sink compound).
I think to remote mount it, I should make a dummy plug out of a junk TFI module to fill the hole left behind, and serve as a plug where the wires connect. But to do that I need a junk TFI module and two additional little 5.5 mm bolts that hold the dummy plug module in place.
Does anyone know where those little hex-head 5.5 mm special mounting TFI module bolts are sold? I could not find them on Google.

Matt, if you really want to remote mount it, get a later model junkyard distributor that uses the remote module. While you're at it get the wiring harness pieces you need too. The wiring will be most easily found on 460 engines with EFI. At least as far back as 1990 they had remote mount TFI modules.

Here's some pictures of the oil filter that I cut open, luckily I didn't see a whole lot of junk, that means not a whole lot of junk went through the oil pump.
That's a Purolator L30001 filter, all this happened in 20 miles with Chevron Supreme 10W-30. I put SuperCrap 15w-40 in it for a short oil change to see if the problem goes away.
I find it weird that the majority of the junk in the filter I saw was carbon particles and stuff like that.

Man, my truck looks like POS! One of the primary reasons why I don't flash pictures of it all over tarnation.
Thanks to Ray & Gary, I now have just about all of the body parts I need to replace just about everything made of sheet metal, will next need to save up to rebuild the front end (ball joints, etc.) and maybe some other mechanical stuff.
A friend of mine is restoring a 1971 Camaro (frame-off resto) but he has spent 5 years on it so far, I want to do everything in one summer.
