We're gonna try and see if we can possibly do a loan modification or something along those lines, but if not, then it's goodbye F100. I just hope whoever gets her will take good care of her.

Sorry to hear that. I've got someplace that you can park your truck if your interested.

I know this is what have you done to your truck today but just wanted to share what I have done. Two and Half weeks ago I with the help of a friend that lives at my house Pulled my 86 f150 4x4 xl reg cab 6' bed out of the woods where it had been sitting for 10years (know because of the inspection sticker from 7/01). Bought truck when I was 14, bought an 01 f250 when I was 18 and the truck sat because I lost interest in trying to sell it, so my brother rolled it into the woods for me where it had set. So what have I done:
Rear Diff fluid
Trans Fluid
Coolant flush
Fuel Filter
Air Filter
Oil Change
Oil Filter
Drained Gas tank
new fuel with additives
cleaned carb
soaked top of cylinders with ATF for 48hrs
New plugs
New wires
new distrib
New rotor
Herculiner floor and roof in cab after doing sheet metal work on rust-out spots
cleaned all interior pieces and painted black
That is my laundry list of what I have done, by end of weekend I hope to have new brakes at all four corners, new tires and everything chrome, shiny or not black be painted black on outside.

Not trying to be rude but I am use to these sites and everyones opinions so if you want to bash the painting of interior pieces or herculiner in the truck you can say what you would like but I will not be responding.

Welcome to the forum , and good luck with the truck. Always remember, "No Pics = Not True". We all love pictures here, so let's see your truck. I'm thinking that I'm going to use Al's Liner in my cab and bed. I think it looks the closest to a professional job for us diy'ers.

BK - looks like you have the bases covered. But, if you haven't already started the engine after it's long sleep I suggest pilling the dizzy and priming the oil system. Tape a 5/16" socket to a long extension an chuck that in a drill. The tape is to ensure the socket doesn't drop into the pan.

And, welcome back (Kotter).

Well, "these sites" is not THIS site, and specifically this sub-forum. I, myself, spent a bit of time painting all the interior panels in my truck. Em's writeup on that subject is extensive!

Don't pre-judge this site because of bad experiences you've had at "other sites". And don't hesitate to ask/share something here. If you don't share, nobody benefits.

Welcome to FTE. Kick back, have a cup, and stay for awhile!!

Oh yea, I'll second the thought that:
No pics, didn't happen!

Neither here nor there but got that from this site, but like I say Opinions are like *****le everybody got one and they all stink at some point haha. But this site is very inform and the nay sayers are less then helpers. So thanks for the welcome back.
My buddy owns his own shop so I borrowed his setup to spin the dis and get oil in. Motor runs like a champ. did that before anything else to make sure I wasn't time worrying about appearence items.

was trying to post pics but my files are too large, any suggestions

Have you tried putting them on a site like photobucket first, then copying the code?

Good plan. I dumped 6 quarts of new Pennzoil High Mileage oil, which is said to have 40% more detergent, in an engine last week and then tried to spin the oil pump. Sheared off 2 tools before I realized the pump was frozen - yes, I'm slow. So, drained the "new" oil out and it was as black as the old oil. Guess that detergent is extremely good! Poured all of it in the recycle container.

2tall - I use the clear Microgard filters I get at O'Reillys. They work far, far better than the metal ones originally on these trucks. In fact, I run one ahead of the fuel pump and one after the pump. The first one is catching silt out of the tank and has to be changed periodically. But, at least the accelerator discharge nozzles no longer plug up.

Spectre/Clearview replaceable fuel filter with 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8 in. barb fittings (6932) | Performance Fuel Filter | AutoZone.com
Most of those I've ever dealt with, were rather restrictive. Not the filter itself, but the tiny openings left where the ends thread onto the center bar.

Like Gary, I run a clear plastic filter ahead of the pump, but use the stock filter in the carb. I've changed the plastic pre-pump filter a couple times just because it was getting old, but haven't had any issues with the small one at the carb. Stop stuff from getting into the pump, and there's nowhere for it come from between the pump and carb, aside from the line itself.
