Timing issue
Hi, i have a 96 f-250 5.8 EFI with no timing tab, all there is, a crank positioning censor which is mounted where the tab should be and also a three (3) pointed sprocket behind the harmonic bal. that i assume is what the censor picks up on. Is there supposed to be a timing tab? If so where can i locate one. Thanx in advance.

define timing tab. Are you refering to the spout plug?
my 96 f150 5.8 has the CPS as well, but everything else times just like the older trucks. Although every time I pull the spout and set timing, it throws a code. So every time I set timing I have to clear it.

no what i'm talking about is the timing pointer that mounts on the timing chain cover. mine was missing when i bought the truck and i can't locate one anywhere. so there fore am unable to set timing.
