To help clear up any confusion about the location of the two torx bolts. You will need to remove both the large trim cover with the plastic coin sloted screws as well as the black foot well cover ahead of that. It has three trim screws and slides over the brake pedal. After those are off you will need to lay on your back with your head pressed up against the brake pedal looking aft at the heads of the torx screws to local them. Once you find them you can sit back up on the seat and reach in with a ratchet plus extension to tighten them up. If you haven't jacked with any of the other adjustments it should all be good now.
The indicator can also be accessed now. Its in the top of the upper trim cover area. A small cable. It adjusts easy by turning the black plastic nuts at the end of the cable.
No need to pull the column covers to do this fix ether.

My problems were in order; shift indicator mis-aligned, loose shift lever, wouldn't go into park.
My bushings are worn too but the system works fine as is so I prob won't replace them yet. Maybe after the next 250000 miles I will.

Shift Indicator Bracket

I had the same problem, with indicator, found the 2 screws loose, but after I tighten them still had problems. Found the, indicator cable adjuster bracket, was broken. Look for a black gear in a white plastic bracket, on end of cable to indicator. Bracket is Dorman # 83244. Picked mine up at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

That would be the shift tube.

The bolts hold the "plate" on by screwing into the end of the shift tube and sandwiching the plate in there. The plate is attached to the cable that goes to the side of the transmission.
