2000 F350 Big Power Loss after 5 min warm up

2000 F350 7.3 after 5-10 min warm up I get about 80% power loss, sounds like its running on only 4 cylinders, NO SMOKE, and Check Engine light comes on. It just started doing this. It Starts just fine. PLEASE HELP ME with any ideas. I only have 90K miles, and great routine maintenance.

Welcome to FTE.

Can you get the codes read? Sounds like it could be the connection under the valve cover is loose. UVCH. Just to start this off.

Not familiar with this issue. Here is a bump back to the top. Subscribing. Where are you located at? There is bound to be someone nearby with an AE

I would check the UVCH (Under Valve Cover Harness), make sure you don't have any loose connections, do the 50 cent mod to the clips under the valve cover and check the fuel filter.

The clip under the VC gets loose and you take a quarter and file off some of it and put it in the clip to hold the connection together. Here is the quarter after the filing is done.

And here is the quarter in the clip. You will understand how it works once you look at your connection.

OK, I'm inside the Valve cover, can see the connection, will do the quarter fix. Dumb question: same process on the other side? Hence the "50" cent fix. Also, so far its not too obvious that the connection is loose. Maybe a tad of separation- but its tight.

Ohm out each injector solenoid. Just remove each injector connector and check the resistance across he two pins on each solenoid. Readings on each should be less then 5 Ohms but the imporant thing is they should all be close to the same. If one has less resistance then the other three it could be causing the problem. One bad solenoid can cause the PCM to ahould down the whole bank. The fact that it seems like it is only running on 4 cylinders is why I suspect a bad solenoid. Post the resistance readings.
