99 crew center console won't come out?

I know, seems like lame problem, but the torq head screws that bolt it down to the floor just spin? No nuts showing through the floor above the transfer case that could be spinning. Prying up while turning, nothing, they just spin, but can not pull out to replace console?

Weird deal, anybody else have this problem? Scratching head!

Have you tried going under the truck with a small hammer and tapping on the bottom of the bolts? Im guessing that the factory weld holding the nuts have broken and letting the bolts turn. I never had that problem with mine, but I know what your saying

If they are just spinning try sticking a pry bar under the lip of the metal for the center console, pry up on it and then spin the bolts. See if that helps otherwise like they said the weld could have broke from the underside. You could try and re-tack the bolts.

There is no such thing as a lame problem, Have you considered taking a 4" grinder to the bolt, get the console out of the way and then have a look at the problem from a differant angle. I have had those Ford clips that act as a bolt strip out on me before. I usually just replace them when they do.
BTW I like like your avatar pic

Great replies, thanks. I have a nice Tuffy console that I could repaint and replace the kind of cheezy console that is in it, if I can get it out. haha!
I have the xlt buckets and separate console (wish it was the split bench, much nicer).

Can't see any nuts from under the truck. They would be above the transfer case, but seems to be double walled.
Dam bolt clips are likely in between and the installer over torqued them and broke all four loose. They won't torque back down either.

No way to get sawzall on the bolts, so might have to destroy the thing to get it off, and better be damm sure the Tuffy will work better.

60Ratrod, That's my 58 F1, factory v8, 4speed, converted to 4x4. Dry as a bone from the desert, but mere yard art right now.

Get a cordless (or corded) drill and put the bit on the end of that and try to remove them. Often times the high speed of a drill (remember to put in in reverse) will overcome the spinning nut and allow you to remove the bolt.
