I just came into this truck a short while back ~ I'ed like to get it so I can count on it for longish road trips ~ the above was the first somewhat long distance ~ have been driving it back and forth between the upper and lower ranches ~ about 80+ miles ```

Yesterday I drove about 90 miles from the upper ranch away ~ if you know what I mean and it stopped and dropped me in Sacramento, California about 10 miles from my destination ~ not nice ```

It would be nice if it was the filter (fuel filter I replaced today) ``` I've a couple 1000 miles round trips I would like to make without worrying ```

Is the truck throwing an engine code? If it quit twice now the dash light should be on

Those fuel filters are supposed to be replaced every couple of years max. Don't blame the design when you should be blaming somebody's lack of maintenance (not necessarily yours).

Some good advice on here regarding how to use the quik-disconnect tools...here's my 2 cents.
I found that keeping pressure towards the fitting while turning the tool works very well for me. I have the cheap-o plastic ones as shown above.
I had to disconnect the line right where it goes into the tank on my last truck (GM) and despite being caked with crud and rusted, this method worked.
I'll douse it with WD-40 or PB if necessary.

Greetings ~ Thanks for coming by ~ I did use WD-40 ~ anyway the filterer was dirty ~ pretty bad but I'm not convinced that was it ~ not throwing any codes ~ and no trouble light ``` Starts like a champ now ~ runs great
