I grew up watching Happy Days. Howard Cunningham was like family to me and many of my generation. He was the 70's and 80's version of Ozzie Nelson, and was probably the best loved character in the show. I'm going to miss his voice...
I don't know, Dutch..................The Fonz is doing AARP commercials and life insurance commercials. He is not looking the picture of youth anymore!
He played the Ultimate Greaser, and it's an image that became a National ICON..
To this day I love the fearless idea that was behind that!
(not to mention colorful and just plain MAGIC)
Henry Winkler said it ALL
Do you know the story about his audition for the part?
I rem, ember him saying something about not wanting to have to comb his hair as it would be too predictable, stereotype-ish. That's why he never did it throughout all the years of the show. He would almost comb it, then realize it was perfect and... heeeeyyyyy (in the Fonz voice).
