pbrukne-I have a question

In my travels around the internet I run across many questions and some mindless speculations about the new 6.7 engine. One is regarding the use of a composite oil pan. Are you able to fill in some of the blanks on this decision? Thanks again for the great information you have already provided.

Regards

Rick

I agree on the exhaust brake as well. Ford is taking an awful beating on other non Ford sites over the perceived operation of the tow/haul/exhaust brake.

The exhaust braking would be an excellent topic for Paul to speak on. Inquiring minds want to know! I am very familiar with how VGT exhaust braking operates on different platforms, but I don't have a clue what's going on with this 6.7.

I'm making the assumption that it is not very aggressive as I don't see the boost gauge move at all. With aggressive turbo/exhaust braking on a 6.0, it will easily make 10-12 lbs of boost in the upper rpm with a good load behind you. Perhaps the wastegate plays a role in this.
