Quick Turbo Cleaning Question
I am planning to pull and clean the Turbo on my '04. I've got the 'how to' PDF but it doesnt cover any gaskets/O Rings I'll be needing..
I've also got a oil leak - its running down the drivers side, Looking up from underneath the truck I can see the oil dripping out of a line on the back of the block. It has the Heat protective cover on it, and Really have not had time to pull anything apart - I figured one of the minds on here had to know what it is. I can get a pic if it'll help.
Thanks in advance!

After doing some reading last night, I'd have to agree on the ICP being the cause.
I'll admit that I've not learned as much as I should about the 6.0, but in the three years Ive had the truck, this is the first problem its given me. Guess I better step up to the learning curve eh?
Heres a pic, with the truck warm, you can watch the oil drip out of the circled area,
Thanks for the input everybody!

Whew what a Day.
Turbo Removed
ICP sensor swapped (what a PITA - had to cut up a wrench to get it out/in)
ICP harness changed
Turbo Cleaned - herein lies the bad news.. I'm going to have to replace the turbo at some point in the NEAR future. Something has gone thru the turbo. The intake side fins are side, the exhaust side on the other hand - I removed a Large chunk of metal - the bottom part of the fins are flat gone, and the VGT Veins, several are severely damaged, all are seriously pitted.
Pics to Follow..
Oh, the whole deal start to finish - 3.5 hours including fighting with a stuck Y pipe to turbo clamp

Cheez, could you break that down for me a little more, I don't understand what would have caused that? I just cleaned my turbo the other day and it looked (aside from the soot) to be brand new but I did notice how the veins could come into contact with the fins if the fins were driven that low, is that what happened?

I have the chunk, I think its still up in the shop. Ill grab a pic tomorrow. I'm 99% sure that over extending the fins isnt the cause - since only about half of the fins are beat up, knicked, etc etc if the fins over extending was the cause, ALL would be chewed up in some way.
The cause, doesnt matter.
I'll get parts and fix it - I'd love an ATS turbo but... with having to replace the Oil Cooler, and doing a EGR delete, an ATS is kinda outta the budget!
