What about the CAM sensor? it also plays a big role here with timing and fuel delivery.

 

Cam sensor won't cause a "hard" "no start".

 

what ever is causing mine seems to be temperature sensitive. it happens alot less when its 50 and cooler

 

Skinner24 your problem sounds just like my, sometimes I have to try and start it a few times but after it starts it runs fine and no issues. Then maybe a few days later have issue again but after I get it started it stops and runs fine. Got 2001 f150 with 5.4 it's weird.
