Question Does a 5.8 have the AIR crossover tube?

I'm looking at a 5.8 for my engine swap. My 5.0 has the crossover tube between the heads with the AIR valve on it. The stock 5.8 that I am looking at does not have one. Did they not come with it?

My '92 F350 w/5.8L engine had a cross over tube on the back of the heads. It has since been removed and plugged by a previous owner.

I don't know why this one doesn't have it.

Some one could have put older heads on it, or already blocked it off.. Is there bolts or other plugs threaded into the back of the heads?

HD trucks typically didn't have the crossover tube it was plumbed into the manifolds instead, for the most part it was only the 1/2 tons that had a tube connected to the heads.

I think Ford had no real rhyme or reason for a lot of things. My '92 F350 had the tube, but it was removed, very obvious by the hardware used as plugs. Both of my '93 Lightnings had the AIR tubes in the headers.

That makes a little sense that the F250 etc didn't have it. I guess maybe this motor is for an F250 then.

The motor I'm looking at is new old stock, so dont think it has older heads on it. That could have been the case though.

I would like to plug the tubes on the heads of my 92 f 150 5.8 ltr. What size plug fits the hole? My tubes are rotted out....expensive to replace.
Thanks
