Paul,
Can you answer if a carbon pack or carbon additive "charge" was placed in the factory oil? Was this to quite the engine? Can this additive be purchased? Does this add additional lubricity to the engine?

Great Job. Thanks. I have been a little nervous of the drain plug as well. Thanks for doing that. Looks very simple.

Just to let you know that I have owned 7 diesels since 1999. All Chevy's until my new 2011 F250. Even right after I changed the oil it looks black. I have tried running a couple of quarts through to try and get the rest of the black out with no luck. My oil is always that black. But my feeling is that changing oil more often is cheap insurance. I have never had a major engine failure. I change about every 5000 miles wether the change light comes on or not. I also use full synthetic. Probably over kill but the results speak for themselves. My new Ford is three months old and I have 12000 miles on it. I changed the oil after the first 1000 miles and then at regular intervals after that. Good luck and enjoy the diesel. There is nothing like it. Period.

Oil type? Recommendations

Paul,
What oil would you recommend for year round use I. The 2015 6.7? I will have a utility body on this beast so I will always have a large load it will be hauling. I use valve line blue extreme 5w-40 full synth in my 2006e350 6.0. I want to put a bypass oil filtration system and possibly a coolant filter system. I just want to keep this vehicle in it top shape and retain and/or increase is power unless you would not recommend it. I assume ford will reflash our computers once other manufactures come out with higher numbers. What is your opinion on change intervals with synthetic oil? Possible at be idling a lot for work ... Will have the 3.55 rear with elocker. I really appreciate any suggestions from ford diesels specialists. You recommend any oil additives/ friction modifiers, or have you seen use of any specific type that does help and perhaps those that may even harm....sorry for the long post. I'm just excited for my new f350 6.7 crew can 9ft chassis cab! You may see it in some trade magazines when I get thw custom body setup, and my final tweaks for HVAC tech work! This is just one of my BIG expensive toys, i mean tools!....Just the body is going to be $23k! Then I plan to mod it more to protect it from issues I've seen occur on others truck bodies. I really want to rhino line the underside of body and chassis...I think it should be mandatory! Lol thanks for any info. Weather tech digital fit liners are already in my collection of accessories I've been collecting in anticipation from my April 4 2013 order date!!

Thanks again to Paul and ya all!

Still don't have my truck from dejana that they relieved in November/December to have a custom body built and mounted. Body arrived on 3/05/15 from knapheide and dejana said they don't know when it will be done! This is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had getting a utility body put on a chassis cab. The truck is almost a year old and I haven't even driven it yet....it makes me sick. I hope my def isn't crystallized in the tank.....if anyone in NJ needs a body made or mounted I suggest you find another company. 24k for a body installed and I have nothing...

Do you run a bypass oil filter system?
