Witness 4 Ford GTs Tear Up an Airstrip
Earlier this month, the production 2017 Ford GT was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show, while yesterday it was announced that a replica Ford GT40 from one of the Fast and the Furious movies will be auctioned, and today—two racing Ford GTs successfully qualified for this year’s Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. Notice a trend here?
All things Ford GT are super hot right now, so if you happen to come across freaking four of them! You’d also upload it to YouTube, right?
That’s exactly what happened in Coalinga, CA during the Shift-S3ctor Airstrip Attack event, when not just one, but 4 Ford GTs decided to burn some serious rubber (and clutches) and tear up a closed airport runway.
A virgin 2006 Ford GT features a 5.4 liter V8 and produces a mellow 500 horsepower (by today’s supercar standards), and can hit the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds at 131.2 mph. Which makes me wonder what one of these twin-turbocharged examples can do given the right rubber and set up.
Kudos to Brian Zuk for capturing such awesomeness on video!
