Daily cruise-ins, a car show, an auction, and vintage plane rides all sound like a great way to spend a winter weekend!

For most of the country, February weather isn’t exactly what you might call pleasant. Certainly, if nothing else, far from warm. But that isn’t the case down in Lakeland, Florida on February 23-25. Because that’s when Carlisle’s Winter Florida AutoFest rolls into town with a massive event guaranteed to satisfy anyone with motor oil coursing through their veins. And for fans of Ford trucks, there’s plenty of amazing sheetmetal to gaze at. And potentially take home!

For starters, every day of the event features a free cruise-in that draws thousands of attendees each year. Whether you choose to participate one day or three days, it won’t cost you a dime. And of course, awards will be handed out to the finest rides of the bunch. If you get bored cruising around and looking at amazing Ford trucks, you can spend the rest of the day scouring one of the largest swap meets in the entire region for that hard-to-find part you’ve been searching for.

If you’re looking to take home an entirely new ride, there’s also a 400-plus car auction taking place. And keeping with the value theme, the auction comes with a “Free Unless Sold” policy. If your car or truck doesn’t sell, your registration fees are refunded! It’s truly a win-win for everyone, and a good way to get more vehicles on the block.

Throw in a car show, a special 200+ Mustang display, a car corral, and tasty food, and you’ve got the makings of a great weekend. But if all that still isn’t enough, you can even take a ride in a Stearman Bi-Plane and scope out some amazing vintage planes at the Sun N’ Fun Aerospace Museum. If that isn’t enough to get you out of the house in February, we don’t know what is!
