Wicked Ford F-150 Burnout Captured from the Air: Tire Smokin’ Tuesday

By -

Drone provides a unique perspective of the new EcoBoost F-150 roasting the rear tires.

This week’s Tire Smokin’ Tuesday video comes to us from the YouTube channel of alan coveney and it features a 2018 Ford F-150 doing a big, smoky burnout. What makes this burnout unique from the thousands of others is the aerial footage from a well-flown drone, providing us with a unique look at a huge smoke show.

The bird’s-eye view and the movement of the flying camera allows us to see this burnout from all sides without any concern of the smoke obstructing the action. Of course, it is also a whole lot safer to have a camera in the air rather than someone walking around the truck during the burnout, but in any case, this new EcoBoost’d F-150 puts on a hell of a show.

The Truck

The details on this truck are short, but we know that it is a 2018 Ford F-150 SuperCrew powered by the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. With the help of the new 10-speed transmission, that boosted mill sends 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque towards the rear wheels. This drivetrain makes the F-150 one of the quickest trucks in the segment, but more importantly for today’s discussion, it makes for one fantastic burnout machine.

All of that turbocharged torque and very little weight over the rear wheels is the perfect combination for a tire-slaying beast.

Burnout from Every Angle

As mentioned above, this burnout is captured in high definition from a drone, so the footage is caught from a unique angle while being completely unobstructed. The action begins with the camera on the passenger’s side, where the sunlight is hitting before rotating to the front as the burnout begins. Within a few seconds, smoke is pouring from the rear tires and a cloud hides the rear end when the burnout stops.

However, before the video ends, the F-150 gets the tires smoking once again, ending the burnout with a second, smoky burnout.
