What’s One Thing You Can’t Live Without In Your Ford Truck?
Trucks are getting more advanced and useful every year; what’s one feature you can’t live without?
When Ford went to an aluminum body on the F-150 (and in 2017 for Super Duty), it opened the door for the company to incorporate some truly innovative tech. The progress of time means trucks are getting more and more features, some of which are game-changing.
What features get classified as “can’t live without?” For example, 2018 F-150 in Action: Pro Trailer Backup Assist, introduced for the 2016 F-150, makes backing up a trailer easy for novices who are just getting started. Folks that may have wanted to buy a boat or a trailer to pull side-by-sides but were intimidated or scared by the towing process can put their fears to rest and tow reliably and safely.
Backup cameras, now required by law on all vehicles built after May 1st of this year, make it easier to get a large vehicle into a parking space. When I drive a new truck with the camera, I will often back into a parking space because it’s easier than pulling in.
LED box lighting, and the mirror lighting, make it easy to handle cargo and see the campsite long after the sun has set.
I know some people who have experienced heated and ventilated seats and won’t go back to having a vehicle without them again.
Many of you will lament the lack of a manual transmission in new trucks, and while Ford wouldn’t sell enough to justify the cost of development, it’s understandable that people long for the days when trucks had it.
So my question this week is a simple one; what feature or technology can you not live without in your truck?
