What’s Your Final Guesses on Super Duty Horsepower and Torque?
We learned last week, thanks to a video and press release from Ford, that the 2017 Super Duty — when properly equipped — will tow at least 31,500 pounds. Ford didn’t say that was a final number, so it’s possible the number is even greater. But to make those big numbers, the Super Duty has to make big power.
Two weeks from the day of this post we’ll be on-site to drive the new truck. Those impressions will not be embargoed, meaning that any big news about the truck will likely be revealed before the program. That means we could possibly get those numbers any day now.
But what will they be? Will Ford pull out a 1,000 lb-ft of torque monster like some people speculated on early, or will the number be a bit more pedestrian? We can’t imagine Ford not beating the 6.7L Cummins diesel in the Ram 3500 and its 900 lb-ft of torque, but how much will they beat them by?
We want to hear your wild and crazy suggestions! Let us know what you think in either the comments below or over in our forums. Stay tuned for even more Super Duty coverage!
