Tire Smokin’ Tuesday: Wannabe Saleen F-150

By -

Ford F-150 pickup does its best Saleen Mustang impersonation, and somewhat pulls it of. Or does it?

This week’s “Tire Smokin’ Tuesday” video features a tenth-generation Saleen F-150. The catch, of course, is that Saleen didn’t make an F-150 package for those models years. If they had, it likely wouldn’t have been a high-riding regular cab, long-bed pickup with big chrome wheels. The Ford tuner did offer a package for the generation after that, and it looked nothing like this one.

Perhaps this owner is a big fan of the high-performance brand, or maybe he just wanted to give his truck a little extra flair. Chances are that there’s nothing Saleen about this truck beyond the stickers. Fortunately for him, the combination of a powerful V8 (be it the 4.6L or 5.4L) and smooth pavement in this parking lot allow this F-150 to do a serious burnout.

After roughly 10 seconds into the smoke show, the theatrics turn into an exhibition of drifting skills. The driver whips the rear end of this F-150 around over and over again, making it a little easier to roast the tires and produce an impressive amount of smoke.

It might not be a Saleen truck, but this F-150 still does the Blue Oval proud!
