The USSV Rhino GX Is a Ford F-450 Custom Luxury Tank

By -

Jay Leno takes the quarter-million dollar USSV Rhino GX on a thorough test drive.

The Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray said it best while riding shotgun in the USSV Rhino GX, with Jay Leno, behind the wheel. He described the massive vehicle as a “luxury tank,” and there’s no denying that’s a pretty spot-on description of the custom Ford truck. The best part is that anyone can buy a USSV Rhino GX, but it’s going to cost them dearly!

Ernie Salazar, client relations for USSV describes how they build the massive truck during an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage. In this video, he shares how the 9,600 pound Rhino GX is based on a factory Ford F-450 Super Duty, and how they completely modify it from head to toe. The result? A $249,000 and 360-horsepower beast you too can buy!

Rhino GX

The USSV Rhino GX, interestingly enough, was created as a result of Hummer’s demise. With China becoming obsessed with huge American-made cars, they reached out to the custom vehicle maker for a new H2-like vehicle. After the Rhino GX made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show, USSV sold 43 truck/tank hybrids on the spot. Now, they’ve shipped about 300 total worldwide.

Not too shabby for a truck that’ll cost you as much as a house. Do you agree?
