While we’re already pretty confident about how you’ll be able to order the new 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R, Ford sent out a colorful and updated order guide to dealerships.

Thanks to an anonymous dealer source, we can now share with you the latest Shelby GT350 news. There are definitely a few interesting notes to point out.

2016_Shelby_GT350_Spec_SheetWhat I find interesting is the comments Ford placed on the base Shelby GT350. They don’t seem to believe that there will be much demand for the base car, as many will either get one with the Technology Package or the Track Package.

Personally, I’d like a non GT350R with both the Technology and Track packages, but that isn’t allowed. How much the extra cooling would be needed in day-to-day driving is probably slim, but it’d be nice to have. I’d be willing to bet that the GT350 Track Package ends up being the best seller of the lot.

If you are looking at the GT350R, but would like to drive it to more than just the race track and back, the GT350R w/ Electronics Package is the way to go. It adds back the stereo, navigation, and air conditioning that is deleted by going to the GT350R.

If it sounds to you like Ford is charging you more to remove stuff from the car, and then charging you even more to get those items back, then you’d be correct. But Porsche has been doing that for years, and I doubt many GT350R buyers will want the additional weight of the electronics.

With all the carbon fiber goodies of the GT350R, I am a bit surprised carbon ceramic brakes aren’t an option.

If you want one of these bad boys hit up your local dealership soon. In the meantime, let us know what you think in the forums!
