Up until now, we’ve been able to show you a lot of different pictures of the 2017 Ford Raptor. We could show you the awesome exterior. We could show you the new interior. But one thing we haven’t been able to show you is what is under the hood. That’s because the high output 3.5L EcoBoost that is in the new Raptor is a unit that was just announced today at the Cleveland Auto Show, but now it’s open for all of you to see, so we have a gallery for you.

The 3.5L EcoBoost is a 2nd-generation unit that will have a standard version in normal F-150s. The new engine features port and direct fuel injection, plus a litany of other upgrades to make it more powerful and more fuel efficient. The new engine will also be built at the Cleveland Engine Plant alongside other Ford EcoBoost engines.
