TV Star 1955 F-100 Restomod Up for Grabs
Built over a two year period on the PowerNation TV show “Truck Tech,” this restomod 1956 F-100 is going up for grabs with no reserve at Mechum’s Louisville auction this weekend. The truck was built with no expenses spared, meaning that someone is likely to get a screaming deal when the hammer falls.
Nothing was left untouched, from the brand new JW rod garage chassis to the smoothed out body. Copious power comes courtesy of a 3.5 liter Ecoboost V6, pumping out 360 horsepower. An intercooler has been added to keep the temperature down, and it’s backed up by a 5-speed and 9 inch rear end. Baer brakes ensure reliable, fade free stops.
The body features subtle mods that set it apart from the crowded field of ’53-’56 customs out there. A 2-inch chop, stretched and widened fenders, raised bed, and reworked running boards give the truck a much more modern look.
The interior is 100% custom as well, with lots of black and grey vinyl accented with orange stitching. Dakota Digital gauges, an electric steering column, and Billet Specialties steering wheel finish things off nicely and fit the modern theme perfectly.
If you’ve been pining for a restomod F-100 but don’t want to invest the time and big bucks getting a professional to build you one, this might just be your Huckleberry.
