Turbosmart Blow-Off Valve Makes Your Turbo F-150 Go Woosh!
Built to ease excess boost pressure from 2.7-liter or 3.5-liter EcoBoost F-150s, Turbosmart’s Vee Port EM blow-off valve adds a cool noise.
You’ve likely heard someone roll by your F-150 with a woosh in the air. Maybe a few of ’em. That, of course, is the sound of a turbo’s blow-off valve popping off. While most could maybe do without such things, a few would love to bring the noise to their rigs. Especially if they own a 2013 through 2021 F-150 with either the 2.7-liter or 3.5-liter EcoBoost.
That dream can be a reality sooner than you think. AmericanTrucks’ Justin Dugan recently dropped a brief look at Turbosmart’s newest product, guaranteed to make those cool noises while relieving excess boost pressure. Say hello to the Turbosmart Vee Port EM blow-off valve.
EcoBoost Go Woosh with Turbosmart
“The Turbosmart Vee Port blow-off valve that we have here today will be a great choice for all 2013 and newer F-150 EcoBoost owners out there who might be looking for for a plug-and-play aftermarket option to support more boost, prevent compression surge, but realistically just wanna make a little more noise,” said Dugan.
The Turbosmart unit is an vent-to-atmosphere blow-off valve, one that won’t require too much work or a custom tune to function, according to Dugan. All you need is 400 bucks, an hour or two of your time, and soon, the wooshing can commence.
Stronger Than OEM, Better Than OEM
“In my opinion,” said Dugan, “most EcoBoost owners are going to be interested in this product because of the sound it makes rather than the functionality it adds. There’s really nothing wrong with that because, after all, it’s your truck; you can mod it however you want.”
Those who are interested in the functionality, though, will love the fact the Turbosmart Vee Port EM is made from aircraft-grade billet aluminum. At up to 30 psi, the BOV is a beast, and more than enough for most F-150 EcoBoost owners. It’ll also prevent premature boost venting for better power control, and stops compression surge.
Just Plug & Play
“Maybe one of the most appealing aspects about the Vee Port here is the fact that, just like your factory blow-off valve, the Turbosmart is actually electronically controlled,” said Dugan. “This is just gonna simplify everything because, unlike Turbosmart’s other option for the EcoBoost, the Supersonic blow-off valve […] there’s no need to run any vacuum reference lines or anything like that.”
