“Trump has Ignored the Facts” – Says Ford CEO
“I sent a letter to Mr. Trump when he originally started talking about us, and I laid out the facts for him”, said Ford CEO, Mark Fields, during a recent interview with CNBC.
“That’s extent of the communication” Fields added, as a polite way of saying that Trump had blown him off. Something that I’m not one bit surprised about, considering Trump’s motor industry crusade is based on hear-say, and not concrete facts.
Mark Fields took advantage of the high-level interview to reinstate his commitment to the United States, and mentioned “Well, the last I looked, Ford Motor Company is here to stay in the United States, and we’ve invested over 10 billion dollars since 2011 and added over 25,000 jobs”, as well as blew off Trump’s silly tirades as “Presidential politics”.
“It’s really important for us to be successful in our home market. We love what we do to the economy, and we will be investing over 9 billion dollars and adding over 85,000 jobs in the next four years.” said the Ford CEO, which we recently reported took over 17 million dollars in pay for 2015.
Regardless of your stance for Trump, facts are facts, and as Fields said, “We’re always going to invest where it makes sense for the business,” regardless if it’s the U.S, China or Mexico.
